Color Esmalt S.A. has developed a new ink, which their physic and chemical characteristics allow to improve the abrasion resistance of the ceramic tiles. The ink can be used over a large diversity of ceramic glazes, mainly over matt glazes.
The ink is formulated by a new synthetic crystalline structure that provides the following characteristics:
- High transparency due to a low rate refraction.
- High hardness, and this gives a high abrasion resistance, it could reach ( according to the design ) resistant values of PEI IV. The application of the ink on top of a general matt glaze triple its resistance.
- Chemical attack resistance
The request for applying the new ink are as follow:
-
There is no need for a special print head, it can be used with the usual printheads of the ceramic sector, for example the DIMATIX 1024 M, L o HF; for XAAR GS-12 o GS-40, and so on.
-
The weight of this ink applied to get PEI IV is about 30 g/m².
-
The ink is used in weaving textures covering a range between 50% and 70% of the surface, so it helps to the discharge of the printheads compared with other inks that require 100% of coverage.
This ink is patented and is going to take part in the Alfa de Oro Awards at Cevisama
We will present this ink in Cevisama HALL N3-P3 STAND A-16
